I just read this first issue of The Loop – I was interested from beginning to end and the illustrations just draw you in! The Loop is a new quarterly magazine for children aged 8 – 13 and for parents and teachers who like to cultivate an independent spirit in their children. Their mission is to entertain, to inform, to be critical, to inspire and to promote creative thinking. Well, it’s working! I can hardly wait until the girls are old enough to get hooked on this.
They take their readers seriously and engage them in contemporary global and local issues in an approachable manner. And it’s so much more than a magazine: it’s a community. They offer workshops, projects, and competitions, which can be published and shared with others on The Loop website. Published by Bolt Editions, in East London, but you can subscribe here from anywhere in the world!
Here is a link to one of the articles in Issue One entitled, “Why Boys Don’t Wear Skirts“.
And below is an image from one of the articles where they explain what Quantitative Easing is! Yes, that amazing!
