Lashlings are colourful, comic-like figures which are applied to all sorts of recycled toys, furniture and also on new items! They represent a very magical world for kids with their bright and playful colors and the long eyelashes and one oversize eye.
They are the brainchild of the Kembo Nui shop in Zurich. A product of the return to popularity of the DIY movement – which has led to this trend of mixing old and recycled with the new! And this shop in Zurich, Switzerland, has its own unique way of transposing these Lashlings with the old in a novel way.
All sorts of objects, recycled toys, most of them from the ‘Brockenhaus’ second-hand shops, are sanded down, and decorated with hand-painted adorable Lashlings.
