DIY Friday: Handmade Bookmarks

Via

Happy Friday! The girls and I are passionate about books and we realized we really need some bookmarks for the longer reads that can't be finished in one evening. And we are also passionate about crafts. So, this post combines those two things: DIY handmade bookmarks. Although bookmarks are seemingly simple, they come in a plethora of shapes and sizes. There are so many fabulous ideas out there – here are just some of our favourites!

Seeded Bookmark: Just a pretty bookmark? Think again. This bookmark will actually blossom into a plant or flower when planted into the ground! What a creative idea! You can see the full tutorial over here.

Stamps:  Collage any stamps you have lying around into a fabulous, fun bookmark! Such a simple project, but really effective.

Felt: Moms and Dads will need to help out with this funky cut-out bookmark, but I couldn't resist sharing it. Using just an exacto knife, a simple piece of felt can be cut and transformed into an ultra-cool, geometric bookmark!  We also think that layering these cut-outs would be fabulous.

Kimono Doll Bookmarks: I think this one's my fave! Despite their intricacy, these bookmarks are actually very easy to make. You can see the template and tutorial here.

Page Corner Bookmarks: Marking the corner of pages – what a wonderful idea! Even better, they're monsters, which just has to put a smile on your face! Check out the full tutorial over here.

Vintage Bookmark: We love these gorgeous bookmarks dangling from the pages. It looks so expensive – but it's not! Using single earrings (C'mon, we must all have a drawer full of single earrings by now!) and ribbons, these are very easy to recreate. See more over here.
