Angle on – Dan Bortz

We haven’t featured an artist in our Angle on Artists series in quite a while. So, here he is!

Growing up in Cleveland and later relocating to Oakland, California, Dan Bortz has had creativity in his blood for his whole life, typically in the form of one of a kind street art. Dan’s studies in printmaking at California College of Art has helped expand his knowledge of different mediums, something he experiments with often.

When we asked Dan what his greatest inspiration is, he replied: “My work is a reflection of all the beautiful things I witness in the world and how I can help create balance in our society by adding more beauty to it. My process is meditative and subconscious.Through these methods I feel a connection to alternate forms of consciousness. Through working outdoors I aim to bring awareness to neglected spaces that potentially could tell stories or create memories.”

To view Dan’s work, visit his Flickr page, and for any enquiries about his work, you can reach him at: danielissacbortz@gmail.com
To view Dan’s unique artwork in person, visit his upcoming exhibition, “Ills and Remedies”, in Oakland at the end of February. See flyer below!
