Here is a post for people in the rag trade and specifically in the Children’s fashion, maternity, decor sector. In this exclusive post, I am interviewing Sébastien de Hutten, (who is the CEO of Playtime, Children’s Trade shows) who together with his sister, Marie Czapska, (below) are the creators of this new platform Playologie, which is the first online B2B trade fair the children’s/maternity universes. And what a great innovation. Scroll down to read the interview!
Jeanne: Please explain the concept of your new platform, Playologie.
Sebastien: Playologie is the first online B2B trade fair for the children’s and maternity universes. Once a brand has uploaded all pictures, prices and references of its new collection, hundreds of selected buyers from all over the world will be able to see it, select their favorite pieces and start placing orders.
Playologie is a secure B2B work platform that will allow both buyers and brands to work together in a more efficient way.
Jeanne: Who will it benefit?
Sébastien: Playologie is conceived to benefit all buyers and brands working in the children’s and maternity sectors.
For brands, Playologie offers the possibility of instantaneously reaching out to all markets and marketing their collections 7 days a week and 24h a day via the Web and an iPad app.
For buyers, Playologie gives a free access to some of today’s best collections and allows them to manage orders at their own pace and, for many of them, in their own language (Playologie is launched in 6 languages: Russian, French, English, Japanese, German an Spanish).
Jeanne: What is your vision/hopes for it?
Sébastien: 40 brands from all the children’s and maternity sectors (fashion, babygear, maternity, decor, etc.) have already joined Playologie. American Outfitters, Maan, Max&Lola, Je suis en CP ! or Pom D’Api were among the first to sign up and and have started using the site to market their collections.
We’re bringing together a very complete selection of brands to offer buyers a coherent and complementary range of products.
Playologie was imagined to be used by brands and buyers on a daily basis, to be fully part of their works habits, allow them to work more efficiently and save time. Anytime, anywhere.
Jeanne: Where does Playologie fit in with the Playtime trade shows?
Sébastien: A ‘physical’ trade show remains essential to meet the brands. Buyers still need to ‘feel’ the collections, see them, touch them, get inspired, exchange ideas, etc. But with hundreds of brands to see in only three days, there’s no time to either place the orders serenely or discover new brands. Playologie is a complementary tool that will help everyone save a lot of time by preparing their shows, placing orders afterwards or even before and managing them for A to Z while always being in contact with one another, all year round.
Playologie was just at Playtime Paris, from July 5 to 7, to introduce this new tool and offer buyers to become free members. It will also be at Playtime New York, August 2-4. Check out the platform right here.
